Americana Sampler

Just finished quilting this one. It has actually been in 'that pile' - if you quilt you know what I'm talking about - the one where the top has been ready for quite some time now but you just never got around to it. It's going to Katie's farmhouse.

Some Chocolatey Goodness!!!!

These are called TOP SECRET BROWNIES. If you like peanut butter cups and chocolate - you'll like these. Warning - they are very rich, and a little fattening, I'm afraid! 1 C. unsalted butter, melted
1/2 C. cocoa
2 C. sugar
4 eggs
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla
2 C. flour
1 C. peanut butter chips

DIRECTIONS

Combine melted butter and cocoa, add sugar then eggs. Stir in remaining ings. Bake in greased 9 X 13 pan @ 350 for 30-40 mins. (check after 30 and DONT overbake)
Cool completely before frosting

FROSTiNG:

1/4 C. butter, softened
1 T. water
3-4 T. whipping cream (or milk)
4 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/4 C. cocoa
2 tsp. vanilla
about 1 pound powdered sugar (about 4 cups)

Beat butter, water, whipping cream or milk, cream cheese and vanilla in bowl on medium speed until fluffy. Gradually beat in cocoa and powdered sugar until smooth, and of the frosting consistency you want.

TOPPING - sprinkle over frosted brownies:

3/4 C. salted peanuts, chopped
3/4 C. peanut butter chips
1/2 bag small peanut butter cups -quartered or-(see * below.)

*= I found these mini peanut butter cups-which are just the right size for the topping, and they have no papers to remove. I used the entire bag and did cut a few in half and left the rest whole.

Can you smell it yet?

Here they are! I wish you could bite into one - these are definitely a 'special occasion' brownie.
