So That's How the Other Half Lives!

We just got back from a week at the beach in California. We left the snow and cold behind and rented a little beach house in Newport Beach. We girls decided to take a little walk one day and found this charming neighborhood... This "street" fascinated me. The houses on the right had good sized front yards (rare) and were split by this sidewalk. Then, past the grass you see on the left are their private docks! This is the view out their front doors. Hey, maybe this is where Popeye lives. Beautiful, uh? I think the Jungle Cruise driver took a wrong turn!

.This was further down the street where the garages faced the street. I have no idea what these houses looked like from the front doors. Even their driveways and garages were beautiful!

I just thought this was a charmer

New Baby

A cute couple I know is having a baby girl pretty soon and since Katie and I attended a class together taught by her best friend, I decided I would use the class design to make them a girly quilt. The challenge was to take several different fabrics and sew them in varying strips and then applique a design on one of those strips. This is what I came up with. Very simple but fun.
