Sew Much Fabric...So Little Time!

This was my birthday present from Marta (along with those cute juice glasses in my previous post). She had these vinyl letters made for me. I love them in my sewing room.

Finishing Up!

A few years back, I decided to "re-vamp" our kitchen. It didn't need appliances - just cosmetic changes so I painted the cabinets antique white and got new granite counter tops. By getting rid of the dark wood cabinets, it seemed to open up my little kitchen. I bought some wood corbels online to attach to the under hang of the pennisula - but just never got them up. Even though they are still not up, at least they are now ready... Alder wood. Pretty, uh?

White (I did a second coat using an off-white paint)

Looks a little scary-right? This gel stain is AWESOME! It has the consistency of toothpaste. I used it on the cabinets too and really liked how it didn't drip like normal stain.

Done! - side detail.

Mystery Project

I have had these fabrics in mind for a specific project for a long, long, long, time now and decided I needed something to do while my hubby watches t.v. The fact that this quilt is going to be mostly black is way out of line for me - but for some reason these really 'spoke' to me. I will show the finished top later - it is applique so it may take me a little while!

SOOO CUTE!!

Aren't these the cutest glasses? Found them at Target after I was tipped off by my Marta. Thanks, Marta! (The small juice glasses were given to me by Marta and look right at home with these retros.

I LOVE Organizing!

I've had this shelf for a long time but it had been finished in a dark brown stain and I decided a couple of weeks ago that it would look great painted white and hung in the scrapbook/office room. I wanted to place a red polka dotted plate on it to match the tie backs on the curtains so I went to the store and found one - that day! Sometimes things just work out.

You might notice the doll on the end of the shelf.- That's Poor Pitiful Pearl. My dad gave me that when I was around 10 years old.

I got this great scrapbook wall shelf for Christmas. It makes things so much easier and actually keeps my scrapbook area neater. I also got a wonderful turntable caddy that holds scissors, paper punches, and many, many etc.'s - you can see a bit of it under the lamp.
