Lamp Project

I needed a new lamp so I found this one at Home Goods, but the shade was a weird green, so I got the idea of covering it with coffee filters.

Not sure how much I really like it.  It's a much bigger lamp than what was there before.  Maybe it'll grow on me.  I guess if it doesn't -I can always get a new shade!

BLOOMIN' BABIES

BABY BLOOMERS

I made these for a new baby girl.  It's kind of hard to see in the photo, but these are actually just diaper covers and a bib.  Really a fun, quick, and inexpensive baby gift.

Sweet Retreat

I am organizing a quilt retreat for this coming weekend and wanted to share (from time to time) the door prizes that will be given out.
There are 11 of us going and I have either begged, bought, or made 22 door prizes.  One of the ladies coming is donating some wonderful prizes along with one who can't come, and  is graciously donating some additional goodies.  I can't wait---it's something I've been wanting to do for some time and finally decided, if I want to go to one of these and make it affordable, I will just have to organize it myself!
-Camera Strap-
This is a really lame picture of a camera strap I made.  It's pretty cute and actually practical too.  Because it is lined with batting, it cushions the shoulder.  I made 2 more for the Retreat.

All Done!
I made pillowcases to match.  My new favorite thing to make-much easier than shams.

Ooh Baby!

I am crazy about baby quilts and hand applique.  When I worked at the quilt shop, I just knew I had to buy this Bunny Hill Pattern.  So, I have purchased the fabrics, appliqued, and pieced it and have no baby to give it to!!
(maybe I'll save it for great grandchildren...)

Dreamin'

Sometimes I just get to dreaming of how to change up these 4 walls a little bit. I'm not talking anything huge, just maybe a few cans of paint and some creativity...

I like the brown with the crispness of the white trim (for our family room- not our bedroom)
I have seen someone use chalkboard paint on a wall, and then hang a distressed frame around it.  This kind of reminded me of it...

I love the dark brown wall as an accent color.  I have a pantry that kind of sticks out into the room and I like the idea of painting it in a contrasting color.

I thought this floating shelves were lovely.  It almost looks like a large English sideboard.

Clever storage

Another pretty beige...

I need to re-paint our stair rails and would like to use a dark stain like this one on the hand rails.

I absolutely LOVE this blue color.  Have you noticed a trend...I always look at white kitchens!

Deer Me!

This will by my last Snowy Post!  I am determined for spring to arrive!  But on Super Bowl Sunday, we looked out the back window and this is what we saw in our yard...

What a Dump!!

Every once in a while we get dumped on.  This was the worst snow storm in years.  We measured the snow on our deck and it was at 24"!  That may not seem like much if you don't live in a snowy area, but believe me it was a lot.  Especially when you consider it came down all in one storm.

THIS IS WHAT THE DECK LOOKS LIKE AFTER A  NORMAL SNOWSTORM...

BUT THIS IS AFTER A 2-FOOTER...

CRAZY GRANDCHILDREN MADE A TUNNEL UNDER THE DECK

IT'S REALLY HARD TO WALK IN THIS STUFF

I THOUGHT THE 'CAP' ON THE BIRD FEEDER LOOKED FUNNY.
