Happy Birthday

This is the latest cake for one of the girlie's birthdays. It is supposed to be a purse -but the colors just make it look gaudie. It tasted good though!

HAppy Valentines Day! -Utah style

We woke up this morning to this mess. We went to Chucky Cheese to celebrate a granddaughters birthday and took our lives into our hands to get there. It really doesn't look bad in this photo - but this stuff is slushy and slippery.

This is a close up of "reverse applique"--you cut out the area to be shown and you place contrast fabric underneath it. I had never tried this before so it was kinda fun.

We'll see how long it takes me to get the borders on and get this thing quilted!

Isn't This Adorable?

I found this cute little favor on a You Tube tutorial, but you can go onto her website and find it much easier. Just go to www.chicnscratch.typepad.com and search for nugget purse. I made 27 of them for a lesson I gave on following Christ's example in leading with love. The reason for the purse is that our sub theme this year in Young Women's is B.A.G.S. (believe and grow strong). We plan on tying bags into our lessons this year by talking about all the various bags we women use - such as scripture bags, garbage bags, school bags, gym bags, etc.

It's Coooooold Outside!

The kids kinda go stir crazy in the winter here, so if there is even the slightest hint of sunshine, we will go to the park.
